Refurbishment to the Cottage continued during my occupancy, with an extended and refurbished kitchen with new white goods within a fully fitted utility room. Addition of Oil fired boiler for hot water and central heating in ground floor rooms to replace the electric storage heaters.
I am offering a special invitation to any interested parties - it is this:
Since the cottage and its locations and possibilities are very different from the everyday house purchase, I invite interested parties to enjoy a Scottish stay and dine experience, wake up to a golden sunrise and enjoy supper looking over a moonlit loch. You will have plenty of time for a 'warts and all' tour.
Come visit and meet me, Christine, and ask all the questions you want or need to.

Rowan Cottage - The History
Shortly after I purchased the sparkling Rowan Cottage in August, 2010, I discovered this quote from Enid Blyton - a favourite author of my childhood:
"'Cheer up! whispered Jack, from the gorse-bush, seeing her gloomy face. 'This is an adventure, you know.'
'I only like adventures afterwards,' said Lucy-Ann. 'I don't like them when they're happening. I didn't want this adventure at all. We didn't look for it, we just seemed to fall into the middle of it!'
'Well, never mind. It'll turn out all right, I expect,' said Jack comfortingly."
(from Enid Blyton's The Castle of Adventure, 1946)
Not quite a route march, nor a leisurely stroll, but a good stride from Drinan: through a wooded scraggy path, passed the rusty horseshoe embedded firmly in the rock and the half chassis of a red van protruding incongruously from the thick abundance of bracken, we came out of the balmy shade into bright, warm sunlight, to see incredulously ahead of us Rowan Cottage glistening in the sunshine.
That is how and where my adventure began in August 2010 - and with that first glimpse always in mind I have warmly and enthusiastically welcomed visitors from nearly every part of the globe to the splendid isolation of this modest cottage with its grand and spectacular views over lochs and mountains.
So, my adventure did turn out all right, with 100% accolades from TripAdvisor. However, after gaining friends from wonderful guests, I have made the decision to hang up my gravy-spotted apron and greasy spoon and put Rowan Cottage on the market - giving another like-minded person the opportunity to embark on their adventure - allowing me to finally retire and return to my family in mainland Scotland.
The Cottage sits 90m above sea level, on the cliff overlooking Loch Slapin and is set amongst a group of well spaced dwellings which go by the name of Glasnakille (loosely translated as 'Church in a green field'). It offers any interested, discerning, well-heeled, intrepid, adventurous buyers many options.
